WHAT IS TAGA?

Organized in 1948, TAGA is the only global professional technical association for the graphic arts industries. TAGA, which has over 300 individual members worldwide, also maintains the industry's best permanent set of technical papers and abstracts. TAGA focuses on graphic arts systems, software, and computer technology developments, as well as the more traditional areas of press, ink, and paper engineering applications. The association also provides guidance and support to its 15 active student chapters around the world.

TAGA Annual Technical Conference

Every year, TAGA hosts the TAGA Annual Technical Conference. The TAGA conference is the main destination for the student chapters and individual industry members; providing attendees the opportunity to learn about the latest technology and research in the graphic arts industry. The TAGA conference is also where the RyeTAGA team presents our student produced research journal, competing against other student chapters from around the world for the Helmut Kipphan Cup (awarded to the best overall publication).

WHAT IS RYETAGA?

RyeTAGA stands for the Ryerson Technical Association of the Graphic Arts. RyeTAGA is an official Student Chapter of TAGA, consisting of over 100 students from Ryerson University's Graphic Communications Management (GCM) program. TAGA Student Chapters are groups of students studying within the graphic arts discipline throughout universities and colleges world-wide. The objective for our student group is to stimulate scholarly research in cutting edge graphic arts systems, software, and computer technology developments as well as traditional areas of press, ink and paper engineering applications.

RyeTAGA Student Journal

Every year, ryeTAGA plans, designs and produces a technical journal showcasing the top student research papers from Ryerson's Graphic Communications Management program. As the Ryerson University Student Chapter of TAGA, we are dedicated not only to planning, designing, and producing a technical journal for the annual TAGA conference, but also to giving our student members an opportunity to develop a greater understanding of all the technologies and processes used throughout.
